Wrapping up 2023.

It's been a year. A good one. Historically I've been plagued yearly by insufferable bouts of depression that left me fully incapacitated, but it seems I've finally figured out the formula to keep this demon at bay. I know that the depressions that follow me can never be killed, but they can be outsmarted, outran and outmatched. Now that I'm finally confident in my ability to withstand this personal curse, I clearly see before me a landscape of limitless possibilities. And so I decided to create my own website, a place to display my writing, my photography, my artistry, and whatever else feels like it's worthy of throwing out there, outside the algorithms of social media platforms we're all so chained up in. This is just the beginning.

I made a promise to myself to create this website before the end of the year, and I was originally planning to work on it with a friend I have here in Chiang Mai where I'm currently living my life to the fullest. It dawned on me that waiting for that to happen is a waste of time, and it's better to settle out on this journey myself. How hard could it possibly be? As with many things in life, the hardest part is to get started. Whatever I need to learn for me to be satishfied will be learned along the way. I have bought the domain of Tornholm.net and I'm not setting up my website on the "Ghost" platform. This is my first blogpost, and soon there will be many more.
